| What we do
Dental Associates provides a wide range of dental treatment, from everyday hygiene and maintenance to more complex surgical, cosmetic, orthodontic and reconstructive procedures. Treatment here can be as simple as your regular 6 monthly cleans, to extensive reconstruction of your smile by the use of titanium implants wedded to lifelike ceramic crowns.Our preference is for the use of non-metal containing restorations – from fillings to full ceramic, zirconia crowns. Crowns | Bridges | Cosmetic Reconstruction The images to the right are cases completed by Adrian, in these cases the patients opted for between 15 and 20 full ceramic NobelBiocare PROCERA ZIRCONIA crowns, and laser gum surgery to mask and balance the gum line on the upper teeth, laser gum surgery was not elected for the bottom gum line as the lower teeth were covered by the lower lip when the patient smiled. Composite Veneers There are some circumstances that don’t warrant the preparation of teeth for the placement of porcelain, in these situations we have used composite veneers to acheive very lifelike results. Composites are hardwearing and can be replaced or repaired, in the right hands, they are extremely lifelike and will provide between 5-7 years of use – for about a 1/3 of the cost of porcelain! In the case to the right, orthodontic treatment was recommended but declined due to the time limitations. Composite was used to “widen” the smile. Orthodontic correction In many cases, correction of irregular teeth is better acheived by orthodontic realignment rather than porcelain reconstruction, which can be quite destructive. We use the In-Ovation-R, self ligation system for all our patients – which results in more comfortable treatment, that can sometimes be carried out a lot faster than you would expect. Many of our orthodontic patients are adults wanting to correct minor misalignments. We also practice early intervention orthodontics, treat patients earlier before all their adult teeth come through can often result in shorter treatment periods and less time on fixed braces. Surgical dentistry From the simple extraction of teeth and extractions of wisdom teeth under IV sedation, to more complex procedures such as titanium implant placement and bone grafting - Dental Associates provides a range of dento-alveolar surgical procedures. Surgical treatment is often carried out under the comfort of fully monitored intra-venous sedation – a conscious anaesthesia protocol that relaxes you, reduces anxiety, banishes memory of the procedure, and limits any discomfort you may feel. |
